Travellers from 5 non-EU nations will soon have access to expedited border clearance upon arrival at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Together with the Dutch Ministry of Justice and the Royal Military Police (KMar), the airport has set up the so-called Registered Traveller Programme Netherlands (RTP-NL). This will enable pre-registered travellers to use the automated passport gates upon arrival, without any membership fee. Normally this is restricted to passport-holders from European Union memberstates and neighbouring countries like Switzerland. Upon departure, passport-holders from various non-European countries can already use the e-gates without registration.

RTP-NL

The eligible countries for RTP-NL are: Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, New Zealand, Canada and the United States of America. Travellers must be 16 years or older and in possession of an e-passport. Registration takes place at the KMar offices located at all passport control points upon arrival. A short background check and travel document verification are performed which takes 5 to 10 minutes. Registration and membership is completely free! Travellers will then be able to use the e-gates when they are open. This is also indicated on the signage.

Operational by autumn

RTP-NL is not fully operational yet. It is expected that registration will go live by autumn. When more details are known about the registration process and implementation, this site will provide the relevant updates.

Dank voor uw info over het RTP-NL. Fijn om zo toch op de hoogte te blijven van de voortgang van dit al zo lang vertraagde programma.
