Excellent news! The last Boeing 777-300ER of KLM has entered the hangar to be fitted with the full flat Diamond seat in World Business Class (WBC). This means that all flying aircraft of KLM’s intercontinental Boeing fleet now feature the new interior. The Boeing 747, Boeing 777-200ER and Boeing 777-300ER have a full flat seat boosting, in general, a 2-2-2 layout. In the newer Boeing 787 Dreamliner, there is a different kind of seat: the reverse herringbone style which offers all passengers direct aisle access. Also in Economy the interior has been modified with slimline seats and an upgraded entertainmentsystem. In total, KLM has taken almost 4 years to renovate all Boeing aircraft with a new generation seats.

Airbus fleet

For long it was unclear if KLM would also install a new seat in the Airbus fleet, after the retrofit of the Boeing aircraft was completed. These are often assigned on shorter routes. Additionally, the airline has already started fasing out the type. However, KL has still chosen to also upgrade the Airbus type. According to the latest statement, the first modified plane will start flying at the start in 2018. In the meantime, you will have to cope with the old, angled seat.
