Hi everyone, It is my intent to engage the community and put a bit more focus on the organization and management of the forums. With regard to this, I would like to choose four (4) people to be community leaders (“formal” title to be determined). These individuals will operate as community “captains.” This will be all about engaging the community. The intention is NOT to heavily moderate or censor the forums. Just like the other InsideFlyer global forums, the forums operate in the local language and are to be managed by the members. It is the community that must set the direction. I will be available to help support the “community leaders” with technical issues, future changes, long-term direction, community events and whatever else anyone needs. I will “step away” from direct involvement in the forums and allow the community to operate. Of course, “step away” does not mean I am not committed to private and public feedback. And, I am also committed to respond to all members messages and concerns in a timely manner. The short list of subjects that we should address : What has worked and what does not work. User experience, in comparison to the “old” forums on ikvliegveel.com. Forum structure, too many? too few? how we review and determine possible additions or deletions of forums. Community events? What you would like to see changed. But, we need to get the community leaders in place first. Heb je zelf geen interesse? Ik kan je input altijd bijzonder waarderen, je kent de community ook al veel langer, bent constructief en reageert uit ratio ipv emotie.
Ik vind het ook wel een goed idee als mensen van de 'oude' groep zich hier bij aansluiten. Ik stel @SVDH en iemand van de crew voor, puur om nog wel dicht bij de basis van if.nl te blijven.
Ik sluit me aan bij @Innersoul en ben ten zeerste benieuwd hoe het met de 'oude' crew staat. Niet zozeer alleen dat iedereen happy ever after terugkomt, maar dat er duidelijkheid is over wat er met de oude crew gebeurd en of we mensen moeten gaan missen .
Dank voor je recommendatie, maar ik weet niet of ik de geschikte persoon hiervoor ben. Al klinkt het interessant, ik weet niet of dit een ''Job posting'' of een ''Volunteering position'' is. Zoals ik het lees zit het er een beetje tussen in, kan veel tijd kosten als admin! Ik ben het met Flying doc eens dat jij zelf ook geschikt bent.
Hi, I believe that there have to be representatives from both the forum and blogger (InsideFlyer) community. This will also be a volunteer position, and is really meant as a means of self management of the community. I can't personally monitor the forums so I need representatives to be able to monitor things are voice their concerns to be directly, so I can broker possible changes.
Just an update. I have every intention of having this resolved by next week so everyone can move forward. I wish it could have happened this week, but I have been distracted with numerous insideflyer.nl issues.
Update : The structure for forum leadership is in motion....... By Monday the 8th of February 2016, we will be announcing the forum leadership. These members are meant to "Ambassadors" to our community. The leadership will include forum members and bloggers. They will be instrumental in shaping the direction of InsideFlyer NL. This also includes feedback about content and the site. As with any organization, there are some changes that will be easy to implement; others that will take longer. I can not guarantee we will be able to do everything the users desire, but I do guarantee that you will have a voice. The short list of things I am working on : - Plan for social events for the community - A community round-table event in March (including dinner) to discuss InsideFlyer NL - More front page content, and more input about the content. - A program of translating appropriate English content from the USA and UK sites. Some of this will include information about cruise and casino loyalty programs that I do not believe is available anywhere else in Dutch. (The intent, is that this will draw more Dutch to InsideFlyer NL instead of them reading or discussing those content areas on English language websites) - Discussion of the structure of the forums, and the potential addition of a "lounge" forum, a place where the community can just say "what's on their mind" on any given day. I cannot stress enough, this community is about the members. It is NOT about me. It is my desire for the membership to set the tone and direction of InsideFlyer NL. Thank you @baccarat_guy. Couple of remarks: Don't we already have this section, right here? I would also suggest to focus more on the 'little' things that could improve the community a lot: The fact that when you select text, you instantly see a pop-up on the top right of your screen (glossary lookup), including ads. The fact that a lot of terms are still in English (new posts, search forums, etc.) The fact that everytime I close my tab, I have to re-enter my credentials (log-in). Or am I the only one who whas this issue? I would furthermore suggest to, for example, use a page width of 90% instead of the current max width of 1170px. (I see a lot of white on the sides on my screen!
I agree, we could also use more moderators. In the past we had overlapping topics or topics posted in the wrong subforum and to my knowledge these were not "fixed" by moderators or admins.
Vooruit, sluit ik mij aan bij FlyRicky. Gekheid terzijde, ook ik zie graag dat de oude garde - zij die IVV mede vorm gegeven hebben met hun bijdragen en andere inspanningen - betrokken blijven bij de veranderingen op IF. Mogelijk zullen voor hun eerst een aantal zaken fatsoenlijk afgehandeld moeten worden voordat zij over een mogelijke betrokkenheid willen nadenken. Tot op heden vind ik onder de streep IVV beter dan IF. Wat de daadwerkelijke meerwaarde van het overgaan van IVV naar IF voor de bezoeker/leden is is mij niet duidelijk. Op IVV zat ik iedere dag, dat maakte deel uit van m'n dagelijkse Internetronde - even kijken of er nieuwe dingen op staan. Op IF kom ik minder dan een keer per week, ik moet er maar net aan denken.
De eerste veranderingen aan het forum zijn gebeurd! We hebben de laatste weken achter de schermen hard gewerkt aan een aantal wijzigingen: De threads met Ikvliegveel in de titel zijn hernoemd naar InsideFlyer De "Deals" thread is nu op de voorpagina van het forum geplaatst zodat je niet meer hoeft te zoeken De verschillende kredietkaart threads zijn nu in 1 thread geplaatst Er wordt dus geluisterd naar feedback die we van jullie allemaal ontvangen! We zijn momenteel nog aan het werken aan de nodige vertalingen en we hopen tijdens het komen focus groep dinner nog meer feedback te mogen ontvangen. Bedankt aan iedereen!
