Skywards, het frequent flyer programma van Emirates, heeft een reguliere promotie waarbij je op bepaalde vluchten extra miles verdient. De bonus kan oplopen van 4.000 tot maar liefst 16.000 miles per enkele vlucht! Dit is dan wel op geselecteerde vluchten en ook afhankelijk van de reisklasse.

Vaak is de promotie alleen geldig voor First of Business Class, maar af en toe kan je met Economy ook een paar duizend miles scoren. Hoe hoger je reisklasse, des te meer miles je krijgt.

Emirates heeft deze ‘Miles Accelerator’ waarschijnlijk om de loads van bepaalde vluchten te verbeteren of bepaalde routes te promoten, maar het zijn niet per se de onpopulaire routes die beschikbaar zijn. Londen, Melbourne en ook Amsterdam kunnen best onder de geselecteerde steden zitten.

De Miles Accelerator werkt alsvolgt: op de website van Emirates moet je inloggen met je Skywards nummer en vervolgens naar de pagina van de Miles Accelerator (klik)  gaan. Hier kun je data en routes invoeren en bekijken of er voor jouw vluchten een aanbod is. Zo ja, dan kan je je gelijk registreren. Je kan tot 11 maanden van te voren kijken welke vluchten in aanmerking komen en iedere maand wordt het aanbod vernieuwd.

De eerstvolgende periode dat AMS-DXB weer een mogelijkheid is, is helaas pas in maart 2015 en niet in Economy.

Registeren kan ook als je je ticket niet online bij Emirates hebt geboekt. Wel moet het een openbare fare zijn en je moet je in dezelfde maand van de boeking registreren.

De Skywards Miles Accelerator is een mooie manier om wat extra Skywards Miles op te doen. Het kost je alleen wat minuten op internet. Als je flexibel bent met je vluchten kan het zeker de moeite zijn om een andere vlucht te pakken die wel in aanmerking komt,als het prijsverschil niet te groot is. Heb je al geboekt en zit jouw vlucht onder de geselecteerde, dan is dat al helemaal mooi meegenomen!

Offering a wide range of Emirates flight bonuses throughout the year, Miles Accelerator allows you to plan your journeys to maximize the number of Skywards Miles you earn. This month’s Miles Accelerator promotion is open to all Emirates Skywards members, including Skywards Skysurfers and Baggage Bonus members, who: a) Are members, or who become members, before the end of the applicable month. b) Purchase and complete issuance of an eticket between the first and the last day of this month (Dubai local time), as per the ‘Date of Issue’ on the eticket receipt. c) Have opted in for the promotion on emirates.com or have purchased their ticket via emirates.com while logged in to their Emirates Skywards account, between the first and the last day of this month (Dubai local time). If a member has opted in for two or more Emirates Skywards promotions, only the higher of the two eligible bonuses will be earned. Members of the Emirates Skywards Family Bonus programme will be entitled to 20% of the Miles Accelerator bonus in addition to their normal entitlement. Members will not have to opt in again for the promotion, as long as their ticket number remains the same. b) A date change to a different month, or a change to a different flight number, in the same cabin, on the same fare; then whatever bonus is applicable for the new travel month and/or flight will apply. Note that the bonus may be higher, lower, or there may be no bonus at all in this scenario. Members will not have to opt in again for the promotion, as long as their ticket number remains the same. c) Any other change involving a ticket reissue due to (i) a different fare; (ii) a different routing; (iii) a different cabin; (iv) or revised taxes and fees, then the schedule of flight bonuses published in the month of the ticket change (if any) will apply.
