De World Airline Awards zijn vandaag bekend gemaakt. Deze worden jaarlijks uitgereikt door Skytrax. Emirates is dit jaar de beste luchtvaartmaatschappij van de wereld geworden. Vorig jaar was dat Qatar, welke nu op de tweede plaats staat. Op plaats drie staat Singapore Airlines, die vorig jaar de tweede plaats kreeg.

KLM staat dit jaar op plaats 24. Vorig jaar stond KLM op plaats 28, dus dit jaar is de maatschappij met vier plaatsen gestegen.

World Airline Awards 2016

De top tien luchtvaartmaatschappijen van 2016 zijn als volgt volgens de World Airline Awards van Skytrax:

3. Singapore Airlines
4. Cathay Pacific
5. ANA All Nippon Airways
6. Etihad Airways
7. Turkish Airlines
8. EVA Air
9. Qantas Airways
10. Lufthansa

Emirates Beste Airline Van 2016

Tim Clark, de President van Emirates zegt het volgende over het winnen van deze prijs:

Naast de top tien zijn er ook nog een heleboel andere awards gewonnen door veel diverse airlines. Zo heeft bijvoorbeeld Qatar dit jaar de beste Business Class, Cathay Pacific de schoonste vliegtuigen en Air France de beste First Class Lounge dining. KLM heeft dit jaar geen award gewonnen.
